This afternoon at 13.00, the Mayor of Narva City in the NE of Estonia (pop.54,000). , Katrin Raik, and the leaders of the City Council will discuss the decisions made concerning the monuments.

In the press conference, a temporary historical heritage committee consisting of 15 members is formed and announced. The committee's task is to develop proposals about the city's historical monuments and place names by the 31st of August.

"We worked out a peaceful solution by changing the tank's status from a monument to a museum exhibit and moving it temporarily to a closed area within the city. So we're removing it from public space but keeping it as it is. Such a compromise solution helps to avoid the division of society, the emergence of conflict situations, and irreparable consequences," Katrin Raik says.
