Last Friday, this year's recipients of the Etnokulp 2022 were announced in Viljandi Town in southern Estonia (pop.17,000). as part of the 20th Harvest Festival awards gala. The traditional music collective Puuluup won the most awards, taking home the best album, best new folk artist, best ensemble and best song Etnokulp.

"Estonian folk music is doing better than ever before. Traditional music has been the social glue throughout history, bringing people together and giving them a reason to celebrate. This time, the 20th harvest festival is taking place, that is, we are celebrating an important anniversary in Estonian traditional music," said Tarmo Noormaa, head of the Estonian Traditional Music Center.

More than 3,000 people participated in the referendum and voted for their favorites.

Etnokulp 2022 awards:

Best new folk artist: Puuluup

Best solo artist: Mari Kalkun

Best ensemble: Puuluup

Best Album: The Last Skier

The best authentic traditional music: Lüü-Türr, with the album "Come to my ildaja istumae"

Best newcomer: Leik, with the album "Let me grow"

Best song: Wood loup "Paala Lake Whale Bar"

R2 Special: Opus "Folk on Acid"

Special guest of the Estonian Traditional Music Center: Ingrid Rüütel
