In Estonia, during the night on Monday, the northeast wind will strengthen to 21 meters per second, during the day the wind speed on the islands and coasts can reach 26 meters per second. In addition, it is snowing heavily and the traffic conditions are very difficult.

Snowfall and blizzard will spread across the country from Southeast Estonia in the morning, during the day the rain will become more intense. Visibility is poor. 10, sometimes up to 20 centimeters of snow is added. Traffic conditions worsen due to heavy rain, strong wind and blizzard.

The weather service's storm warning applies to all Estonian counties. A level 2 warning means that there are unusual weather conditions. Those who move outside must be very attentive and aware of the risks. The Transport Board and the Rescue Board advise people to avoid traffic if possible and to stay at home on Monday.

A lot of snow and gusts of wind also mean that power outages can be expected - tree branches become heavier and trees can fall on power lines. However, power may take longer to restore due to the number of outages and road conditions. Therefore, the rescue service recommends checking the food and drink supplies at home, charging phones and battery banks, and refueling the car.

At 9 o'clock on Monday morning, nearly 10,500 households in Estonia were without electricity, nearly 7,500 of them on the islands and the rest in other parts of Estonia. The Transport Board established a special maintenance regime due to severe weather conditions on national roads all over Estonia due to heavy snowfall and wind.

All available resources are used for road maintenance, but the required condition level of roads is not guaranteed everywhere. Most likely, the snowfall that has already started and will continue during the day will cause some national roads, especially smaller side roads, to become impassable or very difficult to pass.
