Private Healthcare Options

There are also options for private healthcare, which must be paid for by yourself. If you really want to see a specialized doctor immediately, without a family doctor's prescription, or want to do blood tests to check your health without being ill, this may be an option for you to consider. The state system will sometimes have a waiting list of a few months before you get a booking, and therefore people occasionally choose to go to a private clinic with urgent concerns that wouldn't fall under emergency care. Depending on the specialist, a visit to the private doctor can be pricy: €50 or €100 for a checkup, plus the cost of any testing, if necessary. Oftentimes, the same doctors work in both state hospitals and private clinics, with the only difference being that, in state hospitals you don't have to pay, but must wait, and in private clinics, you'll have to pay, but can get a quick appointment.

Here is a list of some private clinics: Qvalitas, Medicum, Synlab, Fertilitas, Elite

There are also some paid options that offer fast healthcare solutions online:

Minudoc.ee offers online video consultations with various medical specialists. There is a fee for each appointment.

Salu offers online medical advice, but they also have in-person appointment options, as well. Salu can help with opening a sick-leave case, registering with a family doctor, renewing your prescription, and so on. Their service is offered in monthly packages, starting at just €1 for the first month.
